Independently unstable thiocabonylphosphorane ligands SCPR3 are observed in the complexes [W(η2-SCPR3)(CO)2(Tp*)]+ (PR3 = PCy3, PMenPh3−n: n = 0, 1, 2) arising from the reactions of phosphoniocarbynes [W(CPR3)(CO)2(Tp*)]PF6 with sulfur.
