The vortex dynamics in superconducting films deposited on top of a five-fold Penrose array of magnetic dots is studied by means of transport measurements. We show that in the low pinning regime (demagnetized dots) a few periodic and aperiodic matchin

The LHC dynamic aperture in collision is constrained mainly by the beam-beam encounters, and by the field errors in the low-beta triplet quadrupoles. The nominal field errors were used and have been corrected with a local corrector scheme at each IP.

0.5 Gev could be gained on the LEP energy by using a 132/90 optics instead of the current 102/90 optics thanks to the reduction of the momentum compaction factor. The drawback of the 132/90 optics is the large negative anharmonicity. The working point

The 6D beam-beam interaction as developed in 1992 by Hirata, Moshammer and Ruggiero [1,2] has been extended to include linear coupled motion and an arbitrary crossing plane. The technique of sympletic mapping the six-dimensional phase space, called s

The LHC dynamic aperture in collision is constrained mainly by the beam-beam encounters and by the field errors in the low-beta triplet quadrupoles. The field errors were taken from the table valid on March 15, 1999, and have been corrected with a co

It has been recently shown that a refined Fourier analysis of tracking data can be used to obtain the resonance driving terms and even the non-linear one-turn map that represents the linear accelera tor structure with all non-linearities arising from
