A fiber-based robust, design-flexible FD-OCM technique using a Bessel-like LP02 mode is demonstrated. Extended DOF compared to Gaussian illumination of equal spot-size at focus is reported. We characterize the resolution performance of this system.

The electrooptic effect is used in a few-mode fiber to control intermodal interference. The fiber has internal electrodes and is poled to increase its electrooptic coefficient. The response time is in the nanosecond range.

The fabrication steps for an air-clad photonic lantern that can excite the first two LP mode groups in a multimode fiber are presented in this paper. A multiplexing crosstalk below −16.8 dB is measured on the fabricated lantern using S 2 imaging te
