We study the pseudo equivalent width of the Si II 4000 feature of Type Ia supernovae in the redshift range 0.0024 < z < 0.634. We find that this spectral indicator correlates with the lightcurve color excess (SALT2 c) as well as previously defined sp

Context. The SDSS-II Supernova Survey, conducted between 2005 and 2007, was designed to detect a large number of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) around z~0.2, the redshift "gap" between low-z and high-z SN searches. The survey has provided multi-band pho

We present a measurement of the rate of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) from the first of three seasons of data from the SDSS-II Supernova Survey. For this measurement, we include 17 SNe Ia at redshift $z\le0.12$. Assuming a flat cosmology with $\Omega_m
