In situ 17 O NMR deoxygenation and oxygen annealing experiments have been carried out on single-crystal samples of Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+ δ . Single-crystal samples allow the previously unobservable (in powder samples) O(Bi) resonance to be obtained.
