Pt/TiO 2 (rutile) samples with varying platinum content (0.2, 1, 3, 5 and 10 wt.% Pt) were prepared by consecutive impregnation (1 wt.% Pt introduced in each impregnation step) with the aim to obtain similar particle size distribution in the samples.

Natural manganese oxides were evaluated as oxidative coupling catalysts to convert methane into C 2 -hydrocarbons. Reactions were done in a cyclic redox mode in which the oxidized catalyst was reacted with methane at 850°C in the absence of oxygen.
