In São Paulo State, besides the occurrence of Candidatus Liberibacter americanus and Ca. L. asiaticus, a 16Sr IX group phytoplasma was associated with HLB symptoms, indistinguishable from those caused by liberibacters. This phytoplasma is called HLB
