This research targets investigation of the internal elastic field near the boundaries of 3D anisotropic bodies by the boundary element method (BEM). This analysis appears to be most important, especially for the interest in the internal solutions nea

Future high-performance computing systems will require optical I/O to achieve their aggressive bandwidth requirements of multiple terabytes per second with energy efficiency better than 1 pJ/b. Near-term optical I/O solutions will integrate optical a

This paper describes both a near term and a long term optical interconnect solution, the first based on a packaging architecture and the second based on a monolithic photonic CMOS architecture. The packaging-based optical I/O architecture implemented

A novel 8F2 DRAM cell is introduced, consisting of two gates controlling a low-doped silicon-on-insulator channel and opposite-polarity source and drain. Simulation with models calibrated to experimental floating-body cell data confirms virtual thyri

One of the key challenges in Silicon based optical interconnect system remains to be the efficient coupling of optical signals from the submicron size on-chip waveguides to standard single mode (SM) fibers with low insertion loss (IL) and relaxed ali

Electro-optic (EO) polymer cladding modulators are an option for low-power high-speed optical interconnects on a silicon platform. EO polymers have inherently high switching speeds and have shown 40 Gb/s operation in EO polymer clad ring resonator mo

An efficient algorithm for over-the-cell routing in the standard cell layout design technology is presented. Two variations are discussed: one aims to minimize the channel density with fewest tracks over the cells while the other aims to minimize the
