The magnetic anisotropy and the spin fluctuations of the paramagnetic molecule [ Fe ( OMe ) ( dpm ) 2 ] 2 are analyzed by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy in the temperature range [7.6–33] K. Spectra in the presence of a 5 T magnetic field directed

The one-dimensional random walk between two reflecting walls is considered from two different points of view: the first, as a particular case of jumps between neighbouring, discrete states; the second, as a system that obeys a generalized diffusion e

We present a comparative Mossbauer study of the 151Eu motions in the nonsuperconducting and superconducting cuprates EuSr2Cu3O7−δ (ESCO) and EuBa2Cu3O7−δ (EBCO), respectively, with the aim of investigating atomic-motion anharmonicities in these

We describe a procedure for correcting the systematic errors in the Mossbauer f-factor measurement due to non-homogeneous effective thickness of the sample. To be more precise, we show that, if the mass of the sample is determined by means of X- or

We report the results of 151Eu Mossbauer and Eu K-edge EXAFS measurements on samples of EuBa2Cu3O7 − δ. In particular, the ratios between the Eu Debye–Waller factors along the c and ab-plane directions, were obtained from the Mossbauer spectra i

The lattice dynamics of high-Tc EuBCO superconductor was studied by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy of the 151Eu ion in samples with oriented grains. Three samples were prepared: one oriented by means of 8 T magnetic field, another by means pressure;

In recent years the synthesis of antiferromagnetic rings traced a path to the observation of interesting quantum coherence phenomena in heterometallic Single Molecule Magnets. Because of the presence of different magnetic centers, it is crucial to un

The spin dynamics of a cluster of four iron (III) ions characterized by a spin ground state of 5 and Ising anisotropy has been investigated by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy from 10 to 80 K. For , spectra display a partially relaxed magnetic structu

The local structure of iron in Fe-doped cubic ZrO2 produced by combustion synthesis was studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy and Fe-K edge extended x-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X-ray ab...

An intuitive description is given of a phenomenological model for the formation of Cooper pairs in cuprate superconductors. In this model, coupling is mediated by large lattice strains connected to anharmonic oscillations along c of the apical ions.
