Broadband Access Communication Technologies XV
In this invited paper, we discuss how optical fibers, the de-facto choice for last-mile connectivity of radio access network equipment, can rise to the challenges of 5G. We start by addressing technologies and trends for point- to-point connectivity,

5G New Radio's (NR) spectrum expansion towards higher bands, although critical towards achieving the envisioned 5G capacity requirements, creates the need for installing a very large number of Access Points (APs), which asserts tremendous capital bur

A real-time transport of fronthaul over a mix of analog and digital RoF is experimentally investigated. The obtained results show that up to 24 LTE channels can be transported with respect to the 3GPP requirements concerning EVM.
