Cancer epidemiology, biomarkersprevention : a publication of the American Association for Cancer Research, cosponsored by the American Society of Preventive Oncology. 10(9)
Some previous studies have reported an improved prognosis in sporadic colon cancers with microsatellite instability, whereas others have not. In addition, relatively few of those reporting an improved prognosis controlled for tumor stage or were popu

New anticancer drugs targeting DNA topoisomerase I (topo I) are showing activity against gastric carcinomas. Laboratory studies have indicated that cells responsive to topo I targeted drugs have elevated levels of topo I, require active DNA replicati

To establish structure-activity relationships, 12 mimics of PM-toxin A, a component of the host-specific corn pathotoxin produced by Phyllosticta maydis , have been synthesized as stereoisomeric mixtures. All the mimics synthesized have four β-ketol

The ultrafast streak camera is presently the only comprehensive temporal diagnostic tool available for laser‐fusion studies. An internally emplaced CCD readout system has been designed to minimize the data reducing complexity, cost, and time delay

Holographic microinterferometry is used to study plasmas produced by high‐intensity subnanosecond pulses from a Nd laser. The probing pulse is frequency tripled to 3547 A in order to reduce refractive errors due to steep density gradients and to re

We describe the technique and the results of a measurement of the width of a fine structure pulse from our L‐band electron linear accelerator. The pulse width was measured by measuring the width of the Cerenkov light pulse generated by the electron

Holographic microinterferometry is applied to the study of laser‐produced plasmas. A 150‐psec 1.06‐μm light pulse from a neodymium laser is used for both production and diagnostics of the plasma. An interferogram, obtained 0.5 nsec after irrad

A circular streak camera tube has been developed. Initial application has resolved 6 psec laser pulses from a Nd:glass laser. The theoretical temporal resolution for this tube is estimated to be less than 2 psec.

An ultrafast x‐ray‐sensitive streak camera is described. Time resolution is ≈50 psec. A streak record of the x rays from a laser‐produced iron plasma is included.
