A study was made of the basic energy characteristics of a transverse-discharge copper vapor laser. The average laser output power in the yellow and green lasing components was determined as a function of the amplitude and repetition frequency of the

An experimental laser system was built in which a mixture of copper vapor and neon pumped by transverse pulse discharges. The system included a laser cell and pulse generator producing pulses of 100 nsec duration and 1 kHz repetition frequency. An av

A laser with a radial transverse discharge was found to operate effectively at above-atmospheric buffer gas pressures. A specific energy output of 25 mJ/cm3 was obtained at the melting point of copper (1500?C) for a neon pressure of 1.5 atm and a pum

Stimulated emission was obtained from a mixture of copper vapor and neon in a radial transverse discharge formed between coaxial cylindrical electrodes. The average output power was 0.5 W when the repetition frequency of the pump pulses was 1 kHz. Th
