This study was undertaken to compare the effects of garlic (G) on hypercholesterolemic risk factors in rats fed with corn oil (C) or olive oil (O) with and without cholesterol (Ch) enrichment in the diet. Male Sprague–Dawley rats ( n =6 per group)

We compared the effect of corn oil diet and olive oil diet (5%/wt) on serum iron, total iron binding capacity, transferrin saturation levels, plasma lipid peroxides and liver iron levels of male Sprague Dawley rats. After three weeks, blood and liver

This study was undertaken to compare the effects of 1% cholesterol (Ch) on some liver mineral concentrations in rats fed with corn oil (C) or olive oil (O). Male Sprague–Dawley rats ( n =4 per group) were fed AIN76A semi-purified diets containing e

Male Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 0, 1, 10, 50, and 100 ppm of chlordecone (Cd) mixed in calcium-sufficient (Ca-S) or calcium-deficient (Ca-D) diet for 15 days. The control rats fed with Ca-D diet exhibited a significant increase in white bl

This study was undertaken to compare the effects of 2% garlic (G) on liver mineral concentrations in rats fed with corn oil (C) or olive oil (O). Male Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 4 per group) were fed AIN76A semi-purified diets containing either 5% corn

Male, Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with different (1, 10, 50, and 100 ppm) concentrations of chlordecone (Cd) in calcium-sufficient (Ca-S) or calcium-deficient (Ca-D) diet for 15 days. No significant changes in serum total proteins were observed.

Male, Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 0, 1, 10, 50, 100 ppm chlordecone (Cd) mixed in calcium-sufficient (Ca-S) or calcium-deficient (Ca-D) diet for 15 days. A significant decrease in body weight gain was observed in 100 ppm of Cd-treated rats.

Effect of Chlordecone (Cd) and malnutrition on total body and spleen weights, and plaque forming cells (PFC) were studied. Rats were fed on normal, calcium (CaD), protein (PD) or Ca+P-deficient diets containing 0, 10 or 100 ppm of Cd for 2 or 4
