Patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) experience seizures at higher rates than the general population of that age, suggesting an underexplored role of hyperexcitability in AD. Genetic variants in presenilin (PSEN) 1 and 2 genes lead to autosomal dom

We report the use of time- and angle-resolved two-photon photoemission to map the bound, unoccupied electronic structure of the weakly coupled graphene/Ir(111) system. The energy, dis- persion, and lifetime of the lowest three image-potential states

We report angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and a set of in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements on a narrow-terrace-width vicinal Cu(111) crystal surface, Cu(775), whose vicinal cut lies close to the transition betwe

We report observation of image states of graphene on Ir(111) using two-photon photoemission (2PPE). We also investigate the 2PPE dependence on graphene coverage, photon energy, and electron scattering angle to study the graphene-substrate interaction

Free-standing exfoliated monolayer graphene is an ultrathin flexible membrane, which exhibits out-of-plane deformation or corrugation. In this paper, a technique is described to measure the band structure of such free-standing graphene by angle-resol

We use a tunable 100-fs UV source to demonstrate angle-resolved two-photon photoemission band mapping of bound but unoccupied bulk bands, viz. Cu sp-band. The strong optical pumping overcomes the femtosecond lifetime of this bulk feature.
