We show that by using a perturbed photonic Dirac-cone, one can realize ultra-narrow and finite Q-factor peak in the wavevector space, with both the peak value and the width separately tunable. We also discuss a lower bound in the minimal viable width

Epitaxial regrowth is investigated as a method of PCSEL fabrication and is compared to non-regrowth methods. The influence of regrowth to photonic crystal morphology is explored and optically pumped and electrically injected devices are demonstrated.

We report optically pumped 1 μm low threshold GaAs photonic crystal surface emitting lasers. The GaAs photonic crystal is etched on 3-period InGaAs/AlGaAs MQW heterostructure. A laser peak is achieved at 1,006 nm with a linewidth of 0.6 nm at 5 kW/c

In the present research, epitaxial regrowth by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) is investigated as a fabrication process for void-semiconductor photonic crystal (PhC) surface emitting lasers (PCSELs). The PhC is patterned by electron beam lithography (EB
