Abstract Recent studies have established Van der Waals (vdW) layered and 2D rare‐earth tritellurides (RTe3) as superconductors and near room‐temperature charge density wave (CDW) materials. Their environmental stability raises natural concern owi

Here, the authors show brightening of dark excitons by strong coupling between cavity photons and high energy, spin-allowed, bright excitons in monolayer WSe2. In this regime, the commonly observed photoluminescence quenching stemming from the fast r

Here, the authors show that the interaction between microcavity photons and excitons in an atomically thin WSe2 results in a hybridized regime of strong light-matter coupling. Coherence build-up is accompanied by a threshold-like behaviour of the emi

Here, we present comprehensive phononic and charge density wave properties (CDW) of rare-earth van der Waals tritellurides through temperature dependent angle-resolved Raman spectroscopy measurements. All the possible rare-earth tritellurides (RTe3)

Abstract A distinct class of 2D layered quantum materials with the chemical formula of RTe3 (R = lanthanide) has gained significant attention owing to the occurrence of collective quantum states, superconductivity, charge density waves (CDW), spin de

Moiré patterns of transition metal dichalcogenide heterobilayers have proved to be an ideal platform on which to host unusual correlated electronic phases, emerging magnetism and correlated exciton physics. Whereas the existence of new moiré excito

Pressure studies on the rare-earth tritellurides established the pressure-induced suppression of charge density wave phases. The hydrostatic pressure required to suppress the CDW phase is reduced for materials with larger internal chemical pressure.

Moire superlattices in van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures form by stacking atomically thin layers on top of one another with a twist angle or lattice mismatch. The resulting moire potential leads to a strong modification of the band structure, whic

The Wigner crystal1 has fascinated condensed matter physicists for nearly 90 years2–14. Signatures of two-dimensional (2D) Wigner crystals were first observed in 2D electron gases under high magnetic field2–4, and recently reported in transition
