Abstract Background Neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) and mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) are extremely rare subtypes of gastric cancer. MiNEN is a mix of carcinomatous components and neuroendocrine neoplasm in the same lesion.
