We investigated a magnetic nanowire device for a light modulator which is very important for 3D holography display application. It has a Si-N/Ta/Gd-Fe/Si-N nanowire with 0.5 × 17 μm2 dimension and a Co/Pd multilayer hard magnet with its size of 0.5

Practical Holography XXXIV: Displays, Materials, and Applications.
We have been developing a magneto-optical (MO) spatial light modulator (SLM) with a narrow pixel pitch which enables reproducing holographic three-dimensional (3D) images with wide-viewing angle. In this study, we investigated a light modulation perf

We investigated the PdPtMn bottom spin-valve, which had an high resistivity NiFeCr underlayer. The MR ratio of the NiFeCr-underlayer spin-valve became 1.14 times higher than that of a NiFe-underlayer, because the shunt loss of the underlayer was redu

We have developed a spatial light modulator consisting of giant magnetoresistive (GMR) elements. Three-dimensional images with a wide viewing-zone-angle were successfully reconstructed using a GMR-based binary hologram having a pixel pitch of 1 μm.

Successful use of a NiFe/Co/sub 90/Fe/sub 10/ bilayer as a soft magnetic free layer in spin-valve films with a GMR enhanced structure comprised of NiFe/Co/sub 90/Fe/sub 10//Cu/Co/sub 90/Fe/sub 10//FeMn is outlined. The GMR ratio of the spin-valve fil

We investigated magnetostriction of a free layer in top-type and bottom-type spin valves. The magnetostriction of the free layer in the top-type spin valve increased as the thickness of free layer decreased, which can be attributed to the increase in

We controlled interlayer coupling from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic by appropriately capping spin valves with thin oxides. The interlayer coupling field was -16.6 Oe at a Cu-spacer thickness of 30 /spl Aring/. The sign of coupling changed at a

We clarified the mechanism of thermal deterioration that occurs in the CoFeB/PdPtMn spin-valve films at temperatures above 310 °C. Two kinds of CoFeB spin-valve film, Ta/NiFe/CoFeB/Cu/CoFeB/PdPtMn/Ta (B:0–3 at. %) and Ta/NiFe/CoFeB/Cu/CoFeB/FeMn/T
