The glass capillary formulation of the synthetic sex pheromone of Agrotis segetum was observed to catch the male moths effectively for 3 years, even though its attractive activity was reduced to ca. 50% after the exposure for 2 years.

A nematicidal constituent, present at least at 35 ppm, was isolated from the roots of asparagus and identified as asparagusic acid, which has also been reported to exist in the edible part of the plant. The acid was toxic to several plant parasitic n
