Three methods are used to investigate the behaviour of cantilevered and linearly tapered thin-walled high masts under different kinds of dynamic loadings. First, the mast is represented as a single degree of freedom system with a prescribed shape fun

In this paper, an analogy is made between the solution of micro-buckling of fibrous composites using a three-dimensional model and that of biaxial bending of reinforced concrete short columns. Two approaches are used; the first one uses a reciprocal

An experimental program was conducted to investigate the effect of stresses and cracks, caused by alkali-silica reaction (ASR) and freezing and thawing (F/T), on bond between reinforcing steel and concrete. Pullout test cylinders, reinforced with 18

The free-vibration behavior of symmetrically laminated fiber-reinforced composite beams with different boundary conditions is examined. The effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia, separately and/or in combination, on the free-vibration prope

A stability problem of composite beams with multiple delamination was tackled. A closed-form solution was found and buckling loads of composite beams with two delaminations were determined in order to obtain their compressive load-carrying capacity.
