Three distinct cationic complexes of technetium, containing Tc(V), Tc(III), and Tc(I) centers, have been prepared by reduction of pertechnetate with bis(1,2-dimethylphosphino)ethane (DMPE). Careful control of reaction conditions allows the synthesis

The rate of the self-exchange electron-transfer reaction between (Tc(DMPE)/sub 3/)/sup +/ and (Tc(DMPE)/sub 3/)/sup 2 +/ has been determined by two independent applications of the Marcus theory. The rates and equilibrium constants governing the cross

The air-stable technetium(II) complex trans-(Tc(DPPE)/sub 2/(NCS)/sub 2/)/sup 0/, where DPPE represents 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, has been characterized by single-crystal x-ray structural analysis refined to a conventional R factor of 0.069.

A series of eight neutral technetium(II)-99m complexes of general formula tr-[99mTcIID2X2]0, where D represents a chelating ditertary phosphine or arsine ligand and X represents a halide or pseudohalide ligand, has been prepared and characterized by
