We propose an optical bus platform architecture that provides an ultra-low latency path for small traffic on metro-scale networks. We experimentally demonstrate that remote memory can be accessed over 25 km in 244.2 μs.

We investigate the practical benefits of multi-band optical networks leveraging distance-adaptive resource allocation. Simulations clarify that the S+C+L-band scenario can successfully accommodate three times more traffic than a single-band scenario

We clarify the benefits of an adaptive restoration scheme for the highly-available optical layer. Simulations verify that 80%+ of double-link failures can be recovered and 80%+ of traffic can be restored on several realistic topologies.

We propose a DGD mitigation architecture that transforms four IM-DD signals to two pseudo QPSK signals and applies conventional digital signal processing. We numerically demonstrate that the proposed architecture enables the DGD robustness of 100GbE
