An Ir single atom catalyst supported by oxygen vacancy-modulated CoNiO2 is constructed (IrSA-VO-CoNiO2), in which the oxygen vacancy coupling with Ir atoms in CoNiO2 facilitates the participation of lattice oxygens in OER.
