To develop a noninvasive technique to visualize and measure blood flow in the iris and ciliary body.Echo data from 50-MHz ultrasound scans of the iris and ciliary body of rabbits were digitized using a new "swept scan" modality. The method makes use

A quality assessment (QA) activity revealed that the percentage of parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels above 300 micrograms/dL was higher in the peritoneal dialysis (PD) unit than in the hemodialysis (HD) unit (44% vs 27%). To reduce the proportion of p

In order to develop a three dimensional (3D) color flow map of low velocity flow through small vessels, we explore the use of a high resolution velocity estimation technique and a new technique for the differentiation of regions of flow and stationar

Increasing numbers of patients receive peritoneal dialysis using noncontinuous methods such as nightly intermittent peritoneal dialysis (NIPD) rather than continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). We hypothesized that blood solute levels befo

In order to evaluate the received echoes from blood at high frequencies, we present M-mode images as well as a statistical analysis of the in-vitro and in-vivo signal from blood using a short transmitted pulse with a transducer center frequency of 50

Proceedings of IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium ULTSYM-94.
In order to explore the feasibility of algorithms to determine the three dimensional (3D) velocity magnitude from the received ultrasonic blood echo from a single line of sight, the signal from small sample volumes is studied as a function of beam-ve

In this paper we present techniques for the 3-D reconstruction of ultrasonic images. In previous work, we presented methods for accurately determining the velocity profile within blood vessels along single lines of sight. Measurements of two dimensio
