Abstract Organic/inorganic hybrid systems offer great potential for novel solar cell design combining the tunability of organic chromophore absorption properties with high charge carrier mobilities of inorganic semiconductors. However, often such mat

Abstract Van der Waals heterostructures consisting of 2D semiconductors and conjugated molecules are of increasing interest because of the prospect of a synergistic enhancement of (opto)electronic properties. In particular, perylenetetracarboxylic di

To develop a better understanding of electrochemical O2 reduction in nonaqueous solvents, we apply two-photon photoelectron spectroscopy to probe the dynamics of O2 reduction at a DMSO/Cu(111) model battery interface. By analyzing the temporal evolut

Due to its wide band gap and high carrier mobility, ZnO is, among other transparent conductive oxides, an attractive material for light-harvesting and optoelectronic applications. Its functional efficiency, however, is strongly affected by defect-rel

We unravel the influence of quasiparticle screening in the nonequilibrium exciton dynamics of monolayer WS2. We report pump photon energy-dependent exciton blue- and redshifts from time-resolved-reflectance contrast measurements. Based on a phenomeno

Shallow donors in semiconductors are known to form impurity bands that induce metallic conduction at sufficient doping densities. The perhaps most direct analogy to such doping in optically excited semiconductors is the photoexcitation of deep electr

Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy enables the measurement of optical constants of a surface beyond the diffraction limit. Its compatibility with pulsed sources is hampered by the requirement of a high-repetition rate imposed by l

We present quadrature-assisted discrete demodulation, which circumvents constraints imposed on the repetition rate by lock-in detection. The method enables pseudo-heterodyne near-field microscopy with kHz fs laser systems.
