Abstract Time series analyses of solute concentrations in streamwater and precipitation are powerful tools for unraveling the interplay of hydrological and biogeochemical processes at the catchment scale. While such datasets are available for many si

Dissolved gases, including noble gases, are versatile environmental tracers. Historically, the application of dissolved (noble) gases as tracers in hydrology used to be limited because their measurement required expensive, laboratory-based instrument

The time a molecule of rain takes to reach the stream is normally substantially longer than the time for discharge to respond to rainfall. This difference arises because hydraulic potentials propagate through landscapes much faster than water itself

Headwater catchments are the fundamental units that connect the land to the ocean. Hydrological flow and biogeochemical processes are intricately coupled, yet their respective sciences have progressed without much integration. Reaction kinetic theori
