Rio Grande do Sul (RS) is the southernmost state in Brazil and includes areas within the Pampa and Atlantic Forest biomes. The semiaquatic bugs (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Gerromorpha) from RS are poorly known, with only 14 previously recorded species.
