Purpose: Hand- and robot-guided mini gamma cameras have been introduced for the acquisition of single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) images. Less cumbersome than whole-body scanners, they allow for a fast acquisition of the radioactivity

Nuclear imaging modalities like PET or SPECT are in extensive use in medical diagnostics. In a move towards personalized therapy, we present a flexible nuclear tomographic imaging system to enable intra-operative SPECT-like 3D imaging. The system con

Diagnostic nuclear imaging modalities like SPECT typically employ gantries to ensure a densely sampled geometry of detectors in order to keep the inverse problem of tomographic reconstruction as well-posed as possible. In an intra-operative setting w

Multispectral image acquisitions are increasingly popular in dermatology, due to their improved spectral resolution which enables better tissue discrimination. Most applications however focus on restricted regions of interest, imaging only small lesi

Thyroid imaging using radioactive tracers is a common task in clinics and is usually performed using 2D gamma cameras (scintigraphy). In this work we present a setup for 3D imaging of the thyroid using a mini gamma camera mounted on a robotic arm. Se

Medical Imaging: Computer-Aided Diagnosis
In dermatology, photographic imagery is acquired in large volumes in order to monitor the progress of diseases, especially melanocytic skin cancers. For this purpose, overview (macro) images are taken of the region of interest and used as a reference
