We characterize the phase behavior of linear n-alkanes with n > 22, using terahertz spectroscopy. We observe enhanced absorption in the quasi-ordered rotator phase, the first report of disorder-induced THz absorption in a rotator crystal.

We observe terahertz vibrational modes in crystals of n-octadecane, a non-hydrogen-bonding, non-polar molecule. These modes are not present in amorphous samples.

We demonstrate surface field generation of terahertz radiation from p-InMnAs. The influence of an applied magnetic field and the sample temperature on the generated terahertz field is examined.

We investigate the photoconductivity of regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) using 400 and 800 nm light. We observe a linear dependence of the photocurrent on optical power at both wavelengths.
