This paper describes theoretical and experimental studies for reducing ambient temperature dependence of KTN deflector by double-thermistor structure. A KTN deflector deflects transmitted beam by injecting electrons into KTN and applying voltage. The

Using light-beam scanning technology based on a potassium tantalate niobate (KTa1-xNbxO3, KTN) single crystal, we constructed a wavelength-swept light source for industrial applications. The KTN crystal is placed in an external cavity as an electro-o

We have developed a highly stable electro-optic KTa1-xNbxO3 (KTN) deflector by enhancing electron transportation through KTN crystal. The amount of current is increased with 405-nm light irradiation to rapidly generate a stable refractive-index chang

We describe a computer generated hologram (CGH) method for application to a multiple input and multiple output (MxN) optical switch based on a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS). The conventional MxN optical switch needs multiple spatial light modulati

We propose a novel delay line interferometer and demonstrate its application to in-band OSNR monitors integrated with wavelength selective switches (WSSs). The WSS-integrated monitors are capable of detecting OSNR with 1.2-dB accuracy.
