The iron-chalcogenide high temperature superconductor Fe(Se,Te) (FST) has been reported to exhibit complex magnetic ordering and nontrivial band topology which may lead to novel superconducting phenomena. However, the recent studies have so far been

The magnetic field of vortices in anisotropic superconducting films is considered in the framework of anisotropic London approach. It is found that at distances large relative to the core size, the magnetic field normal to the film surface may change

The heavy fermion superconductor $\mathrm{U}{\mathrm{Ru}}_{2}{\mathrm{Si}}_{2}$ is a candidate for chiral, time-reversal symmetry-breaking superconductivity with a nodal gap structure. Here, we microscopically visualized superconductivity and spatial

A single-sample synthesis concept based on multi-element ceramic samples can produce a variety of local products. When applied to cuprate superconductors (SC), statistical modelling predicts the occurrence of possible compounds in a concentration ran

Strong vortex pinning in FeSe could be useful for technological applications and could provide clues about the coexistence of superconductivity and nematicity. To characterize the pinning of individual, isolated vortices, we simultaneously apply a lo

Conventional superconductors, such as the elemental superconductors Al, Pb, Nb, and Sn, are believed to form spin singlet Cooper pairs that have s-wave orbital pairing symmetry. Among the avalanche of papers that followed the announcement of supercon

The chapter starts by describing Meissner screening and flux focusing in planar and nearly planar geometries, important for device applications. It then treats the Josephson effect in static magnetic fields through the Sine-Gordon equation, including

We report on a study of epitaxially grown ultrathin Pb films that are only a few atoms thick and have parallel critical magnetic fields much higher than the expected limit set by the interaction of electron spins with a magnetic field, that is, the C
