An investigation of electrolyte-assisted hydrogen storage reactions in complex aluminum hydrides (LiAlH4 and NaAlH4) reveals significantly reduced reaction times for hydrogen desorption and uptake in the presence of an electrolyte. LiAlH4 evolves ~7.

Use of electrolytes, in the form of LiBH_4/KBH_4 and LiI/KI/CsI eutectics, is shown to significantly improve (by more than a factor of 10) both the dehydrogenation and full rehydrogenation of the MgH_2/Sn destabilized hydride system and the hydrogena

Metastable hydrides are an interesting class of hydrogen carrier since many offer high volumetric and gravimetric hydrogen densities and rapid hydrogen release rates at low temperatures. Unlike reversible metal hydrides, which operate near equilibriu

LiBH4 in nanometer-size pores of carbon aerogel displays a motionally narrowed fraction of its hydrogen NMR spectrum. The fraction of mobile spins grows with decreasing pore size, indicating that the mobile spins are those nearest the aerogel walls.

Although it has been shown that the hydrogen storage kinetics of metal hydrides can be significantly improved by the addition of transition metal-based catalysts, relatively little attention has been paid to the impact that the form in which these ca
