We demonstrate how the use of optimized random phases enables the fast computation of binary amplitude holograms via thresholding. We obtain similar performance compared to the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm with a significant speed advantage.

We introduce a modified hologram plane constraint to the global Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm for improved multiplane phase-only hologram generation. We demonstrate a 17% increase in the reconstruction quality compared with previously reported methods.
