ERdj4 is a BiP cochaperone regulated by the unfolded protein response to facilitate degradation of unfolded and/or misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum. As the unfolded protein response plays a critical role in B cell maturation and antibo

We report a pleiotropic disease due to loss-of-function mutations in RHBDF2, the gene encoding iRHOM2, in two kindreds with recurrent infections in different organs. One patient had recurrent pneumonia but no colon involvement, another had recurrent

Trafficking from bedside to bench Typically in translational research, a discovery in cell or molecular biology is later exploited to improve patient care. Occasionally, information flows in the opposite direction. Lo et al. found that patients with

The BiP cochaperone ERdj4 removes misfolded proteins from the ER lumen by associating with ERAD machinery. Global deficiency of ERdj4 results in widespread constitutive ER stress, decreased survival, and metabolic derangements in mice. These findings
