Abstract Deep neural networks can improve the quality of fluorescence microscopy images. Previous methods, based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), require time-consuming training of individual models for each experiment, impairing their applic

Genetic diversity is a hallmark of RNA viruses and the basis for their evolutionary success. Taking advantage of the uniquely large genomic database of SARS-CoV-2, we examine the impact of mutations across the spectrum of viable amino acid sequences

Abstract Colorectal cancers (CRCs) are prevalent worldwide, yet current treatments remain inadequate. Using chemical genetic screens, we identify that co-inhibition of topoisomerase I (TOP1) and NEDD8 is synergistically cytotoxic in human CRC cells.

Summary: The mechanism of long-term depression (LTD), a cellular substrate for learning, memory, and behavioral flexibility, is extensively studied in Schaffer collateral (SC) synapses, with inhibition of autophagy identified as a key factor. SC inpu

TOP1 resolves DNA supercoils by forming cleavage complexes (TOP1cc) that are trapped by TOP1 inhibitors. Here the authors provide insights into the mechanistic understanding of TOP1cc PARylation, showing that inhibition of PARG results in stabilizati

The budding yeast centromere contains Cse4, a specialized histone H3 variant. Fluorescence pulse-chase analysis of an internally tagged Cse4 reveals that it is replaced with newly synthesized molecules in S phase, remaining stably associated with cen

Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) activates the innate immune system in response to oligonucleotides rich in CpG whereas DNA lacking CpG could inhibit its activation. However, the mechanism of how TLR9 interacts with nucleic acid and becomes activated in l

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) can be subdivided into activated B-cell like (ABC) and germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) DLCBL. Self-antigen engagement of B-cell receptors (BCRs) in ABC tumors induces their clustering, thereby initiating chroni
