A lipase from Sporisorium reilianum SRZ2 (SRL) with 73% amino acid sequence identity to Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB) was cloned and overexpressed in Pichia pastoris. The recombinant SRL showed a preference for short-chain p-nitrophenyl esters.
