Upon ageing, hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells harboring acquired leukemia-associated mutations may expand clonally and become detectable in peripheral blood. So-called clonal hematopoiesis may be detected in 5-55% of (otherwise healthy) individ

Some B-cell neoplasms, including hairy cell leukemia (HCL), lack expression of the adhesion molecule leukocyte function antigen-1 (LFA- 1/CD11a). Additionally, HCL cells express relatively low amounts of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1/CD54

Surface IgG expression of 29 cases of hairy cell leukemia (HCL) was assessed using IgG-subclass-specific monoclonal and F(ab)'2 polyclonal antibodies. A marked preference for the IgG3 subclass was found, as 16 of 19 IgG-positive HCL's expressed IgG3.

In patients with hairy cell leukemia (HCL), we measured serum levels of monocyte colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and erythropoietin during various degrees of pancytopenia characteristic for this disease. Serial sera from 12 H

A spontaneously growing EBV-negative B-cell line (DoHH2) was established from the pleural fluid cells of a 60-year-old man with centroblastic/centrocytic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, that had transformed into an immunoblastic lymphoma. The pleural fluid c

To assess the semisolid character of methylcellulose (MC) and its ability to prevent cell migration and aggregation in clonogenic assays, we studied the influence of various concentrations of MC (0.7%-1.26%) on colony growth of neoplastic cell lines,

Since interleukin-4 (IL-4) specifically inhibits monocytic colony formation in human bone marrow cultures, we investigated whether a similar inhibition could be observed in cultures of optimally stimulated acute myeloid leukemia cells with myelomonoc

On normal monocytes, interleukin 4 (IL-4) down-regulates the production of several proteins that are produced in response to bacterial cell wall lipopolysaccharides (LPS), among others IL-6. In addition, IL-4 was shown to down-regulate the expression
