The protective effect of probiotic bacteria against cadmium (Cd)-induced genotoxicity was studied in rat hepatocytes in vivo and in vitro. Male Wistar rats, Rattus norvegicus, were treated for five weeks with (i) CdCl2 (70 ppm in the drinking water),
