Large-aperture scintillometers (LAS) are often used to characterize atmospheric turbulence by measuring the structure parameter of the refractive index $${C_{n^{2}}}$$ . However, absorption phenomena can lead to an overestimation of $${C_{n^{2}}}$$ .
