Recent works on high capacity submarine transmission lead to industrial terabit systems. Highest capacity requirements can be addressed by an appropriate choice between emerging technologies already under laboratory investigations.

185*10.709 RZ-DPSK channels are transmitted at a distance of 8370 km over 22 dB spans using only with C-band EDFA. High potential of use of this transmission is highlighted with experiments exhibiting system margin above 5000 km.

We report transmission results of 40 to 80 channels at 10 Gbit/s over a terrestrial SMF fiber map with above 80 km spans. From 3000 to 4000 km can be reached while leaving about a 4 dB system margin.
