International audience; Radiative balance and heat storage capacity modifications play a major role in urban heat island formation. Urban shape determines the receipt and loss of radiation and consequently the heat storage potential, thus resulting i

In order to investigate the microclimatic conditions in a street canyon, a physical model was used to conduct the Joint ATREUS-PICADA Experiment (JAPEX) in situ experimental campaign. Four lines of buildings simulated by steel containers were install

A full scale experiment has been performed in a streetcanyon, the Rue de Strasbourg in Nantes (France). Thiscampaign, the Nantes'99 experiment, provided a detaileddata base documenting, amongst others, the production ofturbulent kinetic energy (TKE)

Computational Methods in Multiphase Flow VII.
Gas-liquid two-phase flow occurs in a wide range of engineering applications in various industrial fields. For example, without being exhaustive, in the chemical and process industry, a two-phase flow is encountered in boilers, condensers, evaporator

Vertical upward cocurrent gas—liquid flow in a short annular rotating separator was experimentally investigated. The liquid film thickness was measured with a conductimetric method and the axial velocity profiles in the liquid phase were determined
