An infrared (IR) thermal camera may provide a tool for real-time temperature monitoring for precise disease treatment using heat generated by light-induced photosensitisers, i.e. photothermal/ablation therapies. In this work, we quantitatively demons

Simultaneously achieving high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) (or sensitivity) and high resolution is desired in biomedical imaging. However, conventional imaging modality has a tradeoff between SNR (or sensitivity) and resolution. We developed a method

Simultaneous imaging of multiple targets (SIMT) in opaque biological tissues is an important goal for molecular imaging in the future. Multi-color fluorescence imaging in deep tissues is a promising technology to reach this goal. In this work, we dev

High signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in ultrasound-switchable fluorescence (USF) imaging was achieved via a new contrast agent and a new time-domain system implemented in an inverted fluorescence microscope.

An ultrasound-switchable fluorescence imaging system is developed for deep-tissue high-resolution imaging. The system includes acoustic, optical, electronic, mechanical scanning and data acquisition sub-systems. Results show the feasibility of high-r

Our recently developed ultrasound-switchable fluorescence (USF) imaging technique showed that it was feasible to conduct high-resolution fluorescence imaging in a centimeter-deep turbid medium. Because the spatial resolution of this technique highly
