Sensitivity-kernel-based tomographic migration velocity analysis (TMVA) provides a means to better update the migration velocity model in complex media. For actual seismic data with finite-frequency bandwidth, migration velocity updated from wave-equ

Fractured rock causes diffractions, which are often discarded as noise in ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and seismic data. Most fractures are too thin, too steep, and their displacement is too small to be imaged by reflections, and diffractions are t

Acquiring conventional 3 km towed streamer data along a 2D profile in the North of Shetland (UK) enables us to use the local Radon-attributes within the context of depth processing methodology for accurate delineation of volcanic units and imaging be

We present an improved method for modeling 3D acoustic wavefields scattered at smooth curved interfaces. The approach is based on a high-frequency approximation of surface integral propagators and a correct description of their boundary values in ter

We derive a rigorous analytic description of multiple reflection/transmission phenomena of 3D scalar harmonic wave fields in two inhomogeneous half spaces separated by a smooth curvilinear interface of arbitrary shape. The resulting wave field is exp

In time‐lapse analysis, we have to distinguish the seismic response changes due to oil and gas production at a reservoir over the years from several other causes, such as the recording signature and random noise. In this paper, we focus our attenti

Summary We propose both one-way propagator and full-wave FD method for calculating finite-frequency sensitivity kernels in complex velocity models. These kernels can be used in travel time tomography for velocity model building and in analyzing the w

We present a velocity tomography method, which is based on finite-frequency sensitivity kernels and applied to turning waves in models with generally positive velocity gradient. The finite-frequency sensitivity kernels are calculated using the one-wa
