This paper reports on the development of thin film lithium niobate (TFLN™) electro-optic devices at SRICO. TFLN™ is formed on various substrates using a layer transfer process called crystal ion slicing. In the ion slicing process, light ions suc

This paper reports the demonstration of a high-speed electro-optic modulator in crystal ion sliced thin film lithium niobate (TFLN™). Experimental results indicate potential to realize a 100 GHz TFLN™ modulator at 1550 nm with V π = 2.5V.

The prism-based electro-optic beam deflector is a well-known technology dating back several decades. The primary factor that has inhibited its wide-spread application is the need for high control voltages - typically around 1,000V per degree of scann

A method for fabricating moldable guest-host polymer waveguides by a diffusion process using an ethylene glycol/methanol mixture as the solvent was developed. The change in refractive index to create the guiding layer was obtained by the use of a sma

A manufacturing process was developed to reduce the cost of integrated optical components. The process uses a molding operation to form the optical waveguide pattern and dye diffusion process to form the high index region. Waveguide patterns with 5 m
