Maçãs cv. Fuji foram tratadas com 42 mimol·m-3 de 1-metilciclopropeno (1-MCP) por 24 h a 20°C, um dia após a colheita, e então armazenadas a 0; 10 ou 20ºC por 70 dias. Tratamento com 1-MCP efetivamente retardou a maturação de maçãs 'Fuji'.
