The influence of film orientation, strain relaxation, and flexoelectric fields on the stability of the spin cycloid in (110)-oriented $\mathrm{BiFe}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ epitaxial films grown on $\mathrm{LaAl}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ substrates is investigated.
