The effects of tungsten (W) doping on the material properties of VO2 films and the magnetic properties of VO2/Ni bilayers were investigated. Doped VO2 films are fabricated using a sol-gel synthesis technique. As seen in previous studies, the vanadium

We report on a drastic change of the Ni collective magnetization dynamics when incorporated into a $\mathrm{Ni}\text{/}{\mathrm{V}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ heterostructure. Two, unexpected, well-defined Ni ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) modes are observe

Calculations of the induced currents created in the human body by external electromagnetic fields would be more accurate provided that more realistic experimental values of the electrical properties of the body were available. The purpose of this wor

We studied the temperature dependence of the magnetic properties of VO2/Ni bilayers. The Ni films were deposited on either monoclinic or rutile phase VO2. The temperature induced VO2 transformation from a monoclinic to a rutile structure induces stra

The magnetic properties of bulk hybrid V2O3/Ni composites were studied as a function of composition and synthesis conditions. We find a sharp increase in the coercivity and a sharp decrease of the magnetization as the temperature of the bulk material

In spite of the diamagnetic behavior exhibited by bulk ZnO and Au, a ferromagnetic-like behavior is induced in nanoparticles of both systems by appropriate surface functionalization. By capping with thiol derivatized molecules, magnetic hysteresis is

We experimentally show that it is possible to induce room-temperature ferromagnetic-like behavior in ZnO nanoparticles without doping with magnetic impurities but simply inducing an alteration of their electronic configuration. Capping ZnO nanopartic

Nanocrystalline magnetic particles obtained by high energy ball milling of FeSiBNbCu alloy were prepared from rapidly quenched ribbons as a starting material. Structural characterization was made by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scannin

We review here our recent results of experimental observation of room temperature magnetism in gold nanoparticles (NPs) and thin films. Capping gold surfaces with certain organic molecules leads to the appearance of magnetism at room temperature. The
