To ascertain the frequency of thrombocytosis in Henoch-Schonlein syndrome (HSS) a small retrospective survey was undertaken. Sixty-five per cent of the cases of HSS showed thrombocytosis, which might be related to the severity of the illness.

Sixty episodes of fever in neutropenic patients with haematological malignancy were treated with ceftazidime and mezlocillin. Improvement or temporary improvement was seen in 76% of patients with microbiologically or clinically documented infection.
