The vacuum problem in sealed off chambers of VIGs type has been solved. The solution is based on two innovations. The first one is the usage of activationless getters in a form powders or granules of the composition Ca0.35Li0.45Mg0.20 instead of bari

The knowledge of the permeability and diffusivity (the diffusion coefficient) of materials to different gases is essential for a wide range of applications, such as food packaging, gas separation techniques, and vacuum technology. In this paper, we d

The vacuum problem in MEMS devices has not been solved yet. The attempts of many years to support the reliability of these devices using getter films based on transition metals did not lead to success. Getters and the standard bonding process appeare

The kinetics of lithium evaporation from Ag–Li wire has been studied experimentally in the temperature interval 520–630 °C. The initial stage of the process takes place in the kinetic regime and finishes with the formation of a thin layer of sil

Solid solutions of lithium in Ag and Cu in the form of balls, wires, or strips are convenient sources for depositing lithium films as getters on the walls of vacuum vessels. Measurement of the O 2 , CO and CO 2 sorption characteristics have shown tha

The sensors of capacitance diaphragm gauges (CDGs) are customarily kept at a stable elevated temperature. This greatly improves the zero stability but also introduces non-linearities at pressures below 100 Pa due to thermal transpiration. The effect
