We show that a recently introduced class of electromagnetic composite particles can explain some discrepancies in observations involving heat and helium released from the earth. Energy release during the formation of the composites and subsequent nuc

The Green’s function for a space defined (in cylindrical coordinates) by the intersection of two half‐planes S1 (φ=0) and S2 (φ=ϑ where 0 < ϑ ⩽ 2π) is found by a technique due to Sommerfeld. The Green’s function (or its normal derivative

Solutions of the Fermi‐Thomas‐Dirac equation are given for 24 different elements. Both neutral atom and positive ion solutions are given. These results were obtained by evaluating the series expansion for the FTD function at small distances from

The force on a sphere moving through an inviscid, conducting fluid in the presence of a uniform magnetic field B0 is calculated for the low-conductivity case where the hydrodynamic motion deviates only slightly from potential flow. The magnetic Reyno

An image technique (due to Sommerfeld) that is appropriate for finding the potential of an electrical charge near a conducting semi-infinite sheet is reviewed. The technique is extended to a conducting disk by a coordinate transformation. The forces

The thermoelectric properties of a gas‐filled diode containing a high density of positive ions are discussed in some detail. The complete circuit of diode and load is treated as a thermocouple, and expressions for both the Seebeck emf and thermoele

The elastic constants of single‐crystal KCl and NaI have been measured by means of the ultrasonic pulse echo method using a wide‐band amplifier to display the unrectified echo pattern directly. The experimental results agree with previous measure
